Public Accounts Committee

Business of Committee

9:00 am

Mr. Seamus McCarthy:

An aspect of the chapter we try to draw out is what are the arrangements in place at the centre for ensuring there is adequate control locally. The sufficiency of the Local Government Audit Service's resourcing to carry out the audits of local authorities might be an issue. There is also an oversight committee, which was established by Deputy Kelly when he was Minister, which serves to take an overview of local authorities. It might be that the committee would wish to ask questions about how it is operating.
