The purpose of the Bill is to provide for the phased implementation of a 20-year rule for the transfer of departmental records to the National Archives. This is done by way of amending the National Archives Act 1986. I would like to welcome the Minister for Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht, Deputy Josepha Madigan, and wish her the very best in her appointment to that position. The committee and I look forward to productive engagement with the Minister. I would also like to welcome officials from her Department. My intention is for the committee to conclude its consideration of the Committee Stage of the Bill at the afternoon's meeting. Is that agreed? Agreed.
