Subhead B5 relates to the programme of research in third level institutions. There will be an additional €12 million, which will reduce the outstanding commitment in cycle 5. The Department restates there is currently approximately €24.5 million in outstanding commitments. Is that before or after the Supplementary Estimate of €12 million is taken into account? Is there currently a sum of €36 million in outstanding commitments, which will be reduced to €24 million by the additional funding or is is there €24 million outstanding which will be reduced to €12 million?
