Joint Oireachtas Committee on Children and Youth Affairs
Cybersecurity for Children and Young Adults: Discussion (Resumed)

If the witnesses take anything from the meeting, let it be that that must be a primary focus for the company. It has a huge duty of care to people in general and children in particular.
I wanted to come back to the point about women. I am sorry to have to use foul language at the committee. Do the witnesses think it acceptable for a public or private figure to be sent a message saying the sender hopes the receiver is raped in a particular way that I do not want to say? Regardless of freedom of speech, of which I am acutely aware, do they think it acceptable for personal comments to be made that are viciously offensive to public representatives?
