To switch to another topic, yesterday we heard about sex education in schools and that the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment comes up with the policy, which is then delivered by the schools. We were told that in some school environments how it is rolled out very much depends on the ethos in the schools. I do not know whether this is for the Department of Health or the HSE, but is there any concern that there is not a uniform approach or that an ethos may interfere with the quality of sex education and that it is not just about pregnancy and disease but that there is a much more rounded approach? Is there any concern or discussion about this? What input do the witnesses have into how such programmes are delivered or is it just about inputting into the design of the programme?
