The purpose of this meeting of the select committee is to consider the Supplementary Estimate for Vote 20 - An Garda Síochána. I welcome the Minister for Justice and Equality, Deputy Flanagan, and his officials. Before we begin, I am obliged to remind Deputies of the long-standing parliamentary practice to the effect that they should not comment on, criticise or make charges against a person outside the House or an official by name or in such a way as to make him or her identifiable.
