The professor is talking about ending a life. He is really saying that it is an entirely subjective test. As long as the person insists that it is an emergency surely there is no reality to the doctors' duty of care to the unborn if all that is asked of the woman is "please make sure that you have made up your mind". She is not even offered sight of a scan.
