Following from the Law Reform Commission report, the Government gave approval to the drafting of a Bill on the justice side for some of the specific offences. It also gave approval for a digital safety commissioner of Ireland to be established and for the proposal to be referred to the Cabinet committee on social policy and public service reform because it requires a whole-of-Government response. That was in December 2016.
