Engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland

Professor Philip Lane:

Let me make two points there. As we have indicated, the 2013 Act has given us a lot of powers on a forward-looking basis. We are independent in terms of resourcing and we make our own decisions. We are expanding and have expanded quite a bit in recent years. That is an independent decision that we make about how many staff we want to employ.

If I may come back to this 26 number, this is reinforced by having additional input from various consultants, etc. That is not the full scale of the people we are using to pursue this investigation and examination.
