Engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland

9:30 am

Professor Philip Lane:

Our examination involves looking at everything again. Regardless of what a bank may have said to anyone at any time, that does not give the bank a reason to exclude that case from the examination. All cases are being investigated. What remains helpful from the point of the view of the customer receiving information is to write to the bank to ask about his or her position in a process.

We hope the examination and the way cases are handled will accelerate. It really has no standing within examination the fact that someone was told, at some point, they are out of scope.
