The customers are a central point in the process of carrying out a cost-benefit analysis. Does the bank talk to customers or people in the locality who are using that branch and depending on it for different cash transactions and different transactions within the bank in the community? Does the bank consider the wider impact on the community? I believe that Ulster Bank and other banks have a responsibility to look at the wider community and the impact that closing a branch in an area will have, and the knock-on effect it will have in any small town in Ireland.
