I stress again, because I understand the difficulties of the customers, that this is a missed opportunity for the bank attending the committee hearing today not to avail of the public opportunity to signal something to the customers. The witnesses have apologised and said the bank is prepared to look at individual cases should people be in difficulty, and I presume it will be made a priority in the bank, and that they will come back and inform us again of the outcome of the examination. The witnesses could have put a little more into the public domain on a day when a public meeting has been arranged out of frustration and anger to deal with this. I regret it has not taken the opportunity to do so.
