There are other reasons for that. Not to be sexist but it is a predominantly male-orientated profession. It is very hard work involving rough weather and living on a boat for a period of time so it is not that attractive to people. Younger people are going off, getting educated, getting degrees and doing other things on dry land so it is not for everybody and sometimes it can be difficult.
