I accept Mr. Coffey's comments to a certain extent and it has been a good few years since I last studied economics in any way, shape or form. However, I still believe there is a problem in that each of those countries would effectively have to have an equivalent of GNI*, regardless of the differential level, to make for valid comparisons. We should not be comparing directly.

When I asked this question previously, I was given a particular answer, so I am wondering whether Mr. Coffey still concurs. Other countries do not accept GNI*. Internationally, Ireland's GDP is still the measure.
