As we are in public session, I hope Members will follow my example: all mobile phones should be switched off as they cause interference. The purpose of this meeting of the Select Committee on Justice and Equality is to consider Committee Stage of the Civil Liability (Amendment) Bill 2017. On behalf of the select committee, I welcome the Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality, Deputy David Stanton, and his officials.
