Session B deals with oversight of the Commission for Energy Regulation. The joint committee has a statutory role in the oversight of a number of regulatory bodies and the committee intends to meet each regulator under its aegis on an annual basis. The committee is also developing a model for engagement with regulators and this will have ex post, current year and ex anteelements. This is our first engagement with the Commission for Energy Regulation, CER, and I welcome Dr. Paul McGowan, chairperson; Mr. Garrett Blaney, commissioner; and Ms Laura Brien, director of energy markets and smart metering.
