It is a policy decision for the Government what the age should be. Let us assume a child is aged 12 years as he or she will be covered, no matter which age threshold is applied. Can the child's parents make a complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner if it appears to be the case that the child has been offered something on social media for which consent has not been provided?
