Brexit - Recent Developments and Future Negotiations: Discussion (Resumed)

10:00 am

Ms Carol Lynch:

Yes. We have significant trade with the United Kingdom and cannot walk away from that market. That would make no sense. What we need to do in the next two years is ensure we will be ready to trade. It is not rocket science. We traded with the United Kingdom on a non-EU basis before we entered the Single Market. A lot of our trade is with the United Kingdom, but we also trade every day with the United States. These are things that can be done, but they will be difficult to do if left until the last minute.
