The committee is in public session. The meeting has been convened to consider Committee Stage of the Companies (Amendment) Bill 2017, which was referred to the Select Committee by Order of the Dáil on 11 May 2017 and the Competition (Amendment) Bill 2016, which was referred to the Select Committee by Order of the Dáil on 28 February 2017.

I welcome the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Deputy Mary Mitchell O'Connor and her officials to the meeting.
