On the explanations for those transfers, we are all clear of the skills-gap in administration cited by An Garda Síochána, but we are not talking about a time in the dark ages. It is clear that common sense should apply in issues like this. Ignorance is no defence. I need assurance from the Commissioner on the changes that have happened in An Garda Síochána, that these issues would be reported immediately to the appropriate structures and identified and immediate safeguards would be put in place to ensure they do not happen again. It is very easy to point to a lack of skills or administration, but a lot of these issues are common sense issues, that an ordinary individual would realise that they were wrong.
