The improvement of courthouses across the country is very important and this budgetary allocation is very welcome, particularly for the courthouses the Minister named. Ongoing maintenance is important and, while I have not set foot in Tralee courthouse, the one in Swords is also notable. I raised the courthouse with Mr. Ryan and he spoke very strongly about it. Some of these buildings are several hundred years old and the vast majority are in town centres, many of which have been neglected for economic or other reasons. It is always good for the State to step in and bring the standard up, internally and externally, to support communities the length and breadth of the country.
