I wish to follow up on that particular question. Why did Mr. Finn choose to go down the route of holding a press conference rather than informing the two overarching bodies to which An Garda Síochána answers, specifically the Policing Authority and the Minister for Justice and Equality? Why did he fail to provide them with information on the specifics which he then released to the public at the press conference last week?
