We heard today - maybe it was in the timeline - that an IT solution was designed and rolled out to prevent summonses from being created in this circumstance. I know the Tánaiste gave a report to the Houses yesterday. She said that the Commissioner told her at their meeting that operating practices were in place "to ensure that these practices have now ceased". The Tánaiste told the Seanad that errors cannot be repeated because "a permanent and comprehensive IT solution is now in place". How confident is the Garda that this is the case? How confident can we be that this is the case? I am thinking of the public, in particular.
