In terms of the success of the national cancer strategy, this committee is exploring universal access from the start. I am told that in Cork there is no major benefit to being a private patient. That is obviously positive. My sister had twins in the unit there. I am a member of the Committee on the Future of Healthcare, as is the Chairman, and one of the focus points of that committee is that the least we can do is give people the standard of service that they deserve at the start of life.
