Some of our branches have made their own independent submissions outlining their concerns over this proposal. Some of these people are working for titles involved in this proposed takeover. They are concerned about the terms and conditions of their employment as well as editorial independence or interference in that. They are, of course, also concerned about their jobs. These concerns are based on the experience of their union colleagues in other titles involved in previous mergers and relate to cross-advertising rates, sharing of copy and images.
