One of the issues in the mortgage market today is that if we want a secured lending market, security must mean something. There is a degree of uncertainty or fracture between the secured part and the lending part. There is a higher risk here as it takes a lot longer to effect the process to which the Deputy referred than it does in other jurisdictions.
