Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach

Central Bank (Variable Rate Mortgages) Bill 2016: Central Bank of Ireland

9:30 am

Mr. Bernard Sheridan:

I am responsible, ultimately, for the authorisation of non-banks. That comes within my area. We have sufficient resources at this stage to cope with new applications and with current applications. I have no concern there. If a large number of new applications come in, which would be pleased about on the mortgage side, we would have to look at moving resources into the area, but there is no concern there at the moment.
