The deletion of this section is widely supported by a range of individuals and parties for reasons that have already been set out. If we do not delete it, a sex worker could be tried for loitering in a public place. This new offence could be used to target sex workers. We are seeking to ensure this measure is not included in the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act 1994, as proposed in section 25 of this Bill.
