Both parties have explored the possibility of combining their efforts with a view to delivering a single strategy. While they are in general agreement in respect of the proposal to work together there a number of issues around the division of the administration funding that would be provided under the programme. The Department has asked that the discussions are concluded by Friday, 16 December, so there is clarity as to whether a single strategy will be submitted. We are considering the matter and trying to find a solution. We want to set up local action groups, LAGs, and get the money into the communities. I know that the three Deputies are interested in the Galway project. I hope I have clarified the east Galway issue for the Deputy.

I understand that the West Cork Local Community Development Committee, LCDC, was based in Cork. I shall check out the query that Deputy Collins has raised and get back to him. As long as the money reaches the projects and communities that need it then that is the important thing.
