Public Accounts Committee

Special Report No. 94 of the Comptroller and Auditor General: National Asset Management Agency Sale of Project Eagle (Resumed)

9:00 am

Ms Ann Nolan:

It must be remembered that the Irish property market was killed-off by the crash and so as long as NAMA held everything there was a good chance that nobody else could sell anything. We went through three or four years when there was almost no turnover of property in this country. When NAMA and IBRC stated selling more, some of the banks started selling and the property market took off again. The measures are inter-related in different ways.
