The Minister should read amendment No. 49 which essentially is captured by the impact assessment which the Minister has committed to conducting by next September. Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett referred to an addendum to the commitment given by the Minister to talk to the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government about the State commissioning an analysis of the cost of delivering new houses. That principally relates to the supply of new private homes, while the Deputy was referring to the public supply of social housing. There are only two issues involved - they concern the assessment of the impact of the help-to-buy scheme and the cost of delivering homes. One relates to the Minister's Department, while he has committed to speaking to the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government about the other.
