I thank Ms Ryan, Ms Ward, Mr. Egan and Ms Klein for attending, their presentation and, importantly, their direct answers to a number of challenging questions. From the point of view of the committee, this is our starting position on this issue. Our starting position with a number of issues has been to examine the Department's response. From that point of view, the historical background given in the officials' opening statement is useful to the committee.
