It is wasted in that sense but, given the protected disclosure that was made in 2009, I believe the person who commissioned those reports was doing the right thing. The reports are available to the Garda and to the commission of investigation or inquiry, whatever the correct term is, when it is established. The reports have a value, but clearly, if different decisions had been made way back in the 1990s, then this direction of travel would not have been necessary. There is no doubt the Deputy is right in that respect.
