As we have a quorum we will now go into public session. This meeting has been convened to consider the Public Transport Bill 2015. The purpose of the Bill is to amend and extend the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008, the Taxi Regulation Act 2013 and the Railway Safety Act 2005; to amend section 27 of the State Airports Act 2004 and section 106 of the Road Traffic Act 1961; and to change the name of the Railway Safety Commission.

I welcome the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Deputy Paschal Donohoe, and his officials to the meeting. As a number of related amendments have been proposed, grouping arises.
