The Minister announced a short time afterwards that he was going to appoint two public interest directors to the boards of each of the banks and he was going to nominate those persons. I met the Minister by chance one day in ... in Leinster House. I'd known him for quite some time and we had a good relationship and he asked me if I would agree to be considered as one of those 12 people. And it seemed to me that that was a useful kind of a thing to do and I said, "Yes".
