I am cautious about this amendment because of the question of the balance between employee and employer. For example, if the employee lives in west Kerry and the construction company is based in Dublin but carries out its business around the State, will the employee have to travel from Kerry to the Dublin Circuit Court? If someone is of little means, staying in a bed and breakfast or hotel or travelling up and down could be prohibitively expensive.
