Mr. Brian Patterson:

I ... I think it's because our crash was systemic. I mean, in the UK another principles-based regulator, they had some spectacular banking crashes like RBS and Northern Rock, but they didn't bring down the whole banking system. Because it's a bigger country, the banking institutions, presumably, are more broadly spread. Ours was so concentrated and so intense, I think, that that accounts for the ... that unfortunate difference.
