Committee of Inquiry into the Banking Crisis
Nexus Phase
Mr. Patrick Neary:
I think some of the outcomes from the crisis may have resulted in preparations being made that would have had to be made anyway later on as the actual crisis unfolded and as the Central Bank was wanting to make sure that it had arrangements in place for the emergency liquidity and things like that. So, that would have been done anyway and I think, maybe, the crisis exercise identified some of that work and it was done maybe a bit earlier than otherwise. But there was no real comparison between the crisis that emerged and the ... the deterioration in the liquidity position that occurred in the system and the kind of an exercise what we carried out.
