Committee of Inquiry into the Banking Crisis

Nexus Phase

Mr. John Hurley:

No. I'd just like to reiterate the point I made earlier, that when the discussion came to a conclusion, the Taoiseach did ask everyone about the decision and there was no dissenting voice that I can recall in the room. Other than that, I just want to thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to come here. I haven't spoken about this in public before, but I was very anxious to come here to say what, you know, to give my information to the committee in relation to all of this. I'd like particularly to thank the committee for the way this has been conducted. It's been a long day but it has been very well conducted, and I want to thank the back-room staff of the committee for the way they've dealt with me over the past weeks. They were ... very constructive and they're a credit to the committee. And, finally, I just want to wish you well in your task. I think this is an extremely important examination. I think everyone involved has to come here and account, and I believe that you will do a great service if we can find a way of preventing this from happening in our country again. So thank you very much.
