I think there is an irrational fear in this country over residential density. I would defend it on the basis that it makes for a more compact urban environment than we would have otherwise. If we were to build at the rate of eight to ten houses per acre, which used to be standard in the past, we would have housing everywhere. There was a strong argument for higher densities.
