That is one. The commission, or an independent body, must have a role in addressing those issues and in trying to ensure the local authority areas can be represented properly. Fewer councillors are being elected, so people should have a relatively manageable area to cover. After all, these people are doing this on a part-time basis.

The issue of Dáil boundaries and three, four, five and six seat constituencies should be put into the frame in terms of the commission. We need an independent commission which has the support of the House.
