I agree with the Vice Chairman, by and large, that there needs to be an emphasis on the people on all sides. These are the individuals who became part of the Volunteers, Cumann na mBan, the Irish Citizen Army and the ordinary people who got involved in it from that point of view. There was also the RIC and the British Army, which were made up, by and large, of Irish people as well. We need to deal with all of this. My father was in the old IRA. There is a huge amount of work being done in Cathal Brugha barracks. I wish to know the extent to which the Department is involved in this. This development is a massive job of work. I do not know if the resources are sufficient to deal with it. There is no indication of the extent of other areas. The Mansion House was central to much of the work and to much of the discussions which took place on the initial peace agreement.

There was no mention of the Moore Street national monument or Arbour Hill. It seems that there are many gaps in the first instance. It also seems that we are way behind in the preparations.
