Firearms Licences: (Resumed) Discussion
10:00 am
Mr. Jeff McCann:
The German authorities have held a ballistics database since 2000. It is not just the firing pin that is involved. There are grooves on the cases, which we call the brass of the case, even in a shotgun which are much harder to change than just the firing pin. The German authorities say that 77% of all cases recovered at crime scenes at the moment are useful in the identification of the crime.
