Professor Patrick Honohan:

I am sure different people would have held different views. From the evidence provided, perhaps it is fair to say that people like the Secretary General of the Department started to think they would be more confident of the advice they could get from the NTMA on financial market matters. They got a string of investment bankers, and while not all of them gave great advice at least they were known experts.
