Professor Patrick Honohan:

I am determined to avoid a small slogan but if we get into fit for purpose and regulations that failed, we will get a long list of international regulators whose record during this period was not all that good. The difference with Ireland and maybe Iceland is the scale. The scale is huge. I do not necessarily disagree with the characterisation but I do not want to use it because I resist reducing this matter to a slogan.
