My question relates to tonight's vote. We must be clear about what is happening. It is the Parliament, more than likely, which will recognise the state of Palestine. The Government has said that it will recognise the state of Palestine when the time is right. Could Ms Minch tell me whether it is case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't" in respect of recognising or not recognising the state of Palestine? I am talking about every country. Is there a danger that recognising the state of Palestine could lead to more violence on the ground as we have seen in the past and a failed state? If we do not recognise it, are we not letting down the people of Palestine in respect of their entitlement to statehood? Are we caught between two stools?
