At the core of his complaint - quite aside from the political arm of things and obstruction, which it is not proper for Ms Feehily to comment on and I will not ask her to do so - is that in late 2003, early 2004, he discovered a secret ledger. He leaves aside the political reaction or otherwise to that. This goes into the system and, he asserts, is either not investigated at all or is inadequately investigated. That is at the heart of this. It is very important, without naming names or giving any details, to establish if the information landed on the Revenue's desk and, while it was read with interest, was considered already to have been known and officials were on top of it. Alternatively, did the information land on the Revenue's desk and was considered irrelevant or failing to cut the mustard? Was it disregarded for whatever reason?
