I am glad the Department is exploring the issue of waste disposal. It is in the nature of Ebola for a person to suffer vomiting and diarrhoea and thus lose a huge amount of body fluids. There will be a huge amount of waste created even if only one person is affected. Dr. Flanagan has said that the biggest risk to health care workers is when they de-robe as they may make contact with waste. Should we shore up our plans for waste disposal? How wise is it to export this waste? Is there a potential to endanger our European neighbours?
