On attendances, there has been much positive commentary but I ask that we do not become complacent because race tracks to great work to attract attendances. Mr. Brian Kavanagh, the chief executive of HRI, recently suggested that the number of jobs in the horse racing industry could grow from 16,000 to over 20,000 and it is important to stress that such jobs are in rural areas. We ask that the committee members listen to our recommendation that a voice be given to racegoers.
