Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications
Concert Licensing: Dublin City Council
3:20 pm
Mr. Owen Keegan:
I do not know how they interpreted that. I am satisfied that I indicated I would be supportive of the application because this is an appropriate position for a chief executive officer to take on something that will bring such significant benefits to the city.
It is a far cry to interpret from that broad support any commitment or assurance that they would get the necessary licence, particularly in advance of the licensing process. Croke Park has been through this process on previous occasions. It is not a newcomer to the process, and it would be aware that there are issues with residents. The onus was on them to bring the process to a successful conclusion.
